Is It Legal?
Yes! It is completely legal. Our services are for entertainment pruposes only. We are under the same classification as a Disc Jockey or Elvis impersonator. We also work very closely with you to maintain the legal compliance of any fundraising activity.
How much money can we make?
Just to throw some numbers around, our record for a two hundred person Charitable Poker Tournament that lasted for four hours, raised over $51,000.00 and this does not include any single endowments or pledges. This money came from ticket sales, re-buys, raffles, and auctions. I always advise people that the first time an organization conducts a Casino Night Fundraiser, one of the most important factors is that everything run smoothly and that the guests have a wonderful time. The worst thing to happen would be if a guest/ member / contributor/ leaves your event feeling it was a waste of their time and money due to any one of the following factors; they could not get on to a casino table to play, they were promised more than what was delivered, or they feel they were somehow mislead. If you run your Casino Night Fundraiser cleanly and efficiently, it will be the first of many successful fundraisers that you throw. Each successive Casino Night will run smoother and be more efficient to throw, enjoy more guests ( because your satisfied guests will tell friends, family, and co-workers), and be much easier to secure sponsors ( because of the increased business they will receive from your members). If you are still a little confused, please do not hesitate to contact us at (954)533-4579.
What type of Fundraiser should we throw?
The first thing you need to know is that a Casino Night Fundraiser is not for everyone. If your membership does not appreciate the Casino Atmosphere, you may alienate your contributors. We always recommend polling your membership to gauge the amount of support you can expect to receive from them. If the support is there, you have multiple options for a fun and exciting event that will be financially successful and emotionally fulfilling. The most common and profitable Casino Night Fundraiser is a Las Vegas Night or Monte Carlo Night. This is best for a diverse group. This type of utilizes all of the Casino Games and guarantees the Complete Casino Experience. We send an eclectic selection of Casino Games and Slot Machines that will please all of your members because there is sure to be something for everyone from all experience levels. We can custom design the perfect table selection to perfectly suit your specific needs and wants. If you would like more information, please contact us at (954)533-4579.
How much should we charge?
I always recommend that you ask for donations in an amount that the vast majority of your members can comfortably pay. Historically, organizations have received a higher per person donation for the evening when they have asked for smaller amounts. It is better to ask for less and give more to each guest to make them feel they are getting an evening of fun for a reasonable price. That way, the next time you throw A Casino Night Fundraiser, they will bring friends, family, and co-workers to enjoy the great time they had at their first event. Another important factor to consider is the value of the prizes you are offering at the conclusion of the event. If you would like more information, please contact us at (954)533-4579.
How do People win?
We have a number of ways for your members and guests to win prizes. The most successful Casino Night Fundraiser that we have been a part of have actually used a combination of the following prize awarding systems. A Chinese Auction for prizes valued at $5.00 – $100.00, a Silent Auction for prizes valued at $100.00 – $500.00, a raffle for prizes above $500.00, and a grand prize for the winner. CASINO NIGHT CHARITABLE FUNDRAISING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!
Casino Night Fundraisers are an exciting, new alternative to some of the more traditional methods of raising money for your organization. In this economy, the charitable organizations are the ones that are competing for an ever shrinking number of dollars. Give your members a new way to donate their money to you. We have been helping Charities in South Florida raise money for more than 6 years and have compiled a list of questions that many have asked us while contemplating whether a Casino Night Fundraiser is right for them. If you have questions that have not been answered below, please call us at (954)533-4579 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to answer them.
Can we advertise?
Yes, you can advertise in any media available to you. There is no such thing as too much advertising. Some of the local radio stations will run some quick spots for you at no cost, If you have a flyer, we can connect from our website directly to your registration page (we get approximately 1500 visits per day), and of course, your membership is your best form of advertising. If you have any more concerns, please feel free to contact us at (954)533-4579.
Should we offer a discount if people register and prepay early?
I do not believe this is ever a good idea. It is important to have your members preregister and prepay. That is information that will help your event run smoothly. If you offer a discount, that is taking money out of your event’s coffers. There are many more exciting and successful ways to entice your members to sign up early. If you need more information, please call us at (954)533-4579.
Do we need a special license or permit?
If you are a Florida State recognized, licensed, charitable organization, you are permitted to throw three events in any calendar year where prizes of consideration are awarded to participants in a game of chance. If you have more than three, you must apply for a special permit. For more information please call (954)533-4579.
What if we are not a State Recognized Organization?
If you have a great cause and can get people to your Casino Night Fundraiser but you are not a State recognized Charitable Organization, you can still host a Casino Night Fundraiser. 30% of your gross proceeds must go to a not for profit organization. If you still have concerns, please contact us at (954)533-4579.
What type of Silent Auction works best?
We have found that a true “silent” auction takes more time but ultimately raises significantly more money. We recommend that you have an enticing description and picture of your donated prizes with values of $100.00 – $500.00, placed on a separate table with each prize having its own bid box. Again, it should be approximately 8″ square with a slit in the top. You should have small pieces of paper approximately 2″ x 3.5″ (business card size) in front of the prize. People who are interested in winning that prize will write their names, contact information, and price they are willing to pay for that prize. At the conclusion of the event, you and your volunteers will go through each box and locate the highest bid. That person will then have won that prize and will pay the price they bid.
What is a Chinese Auction?
A Chinese Auction is what we recommend to all of our clients to utilize for maximum member contributions. At the conclusion of an event, our dealers can convert playing chips into raffle tickets. When you are collecting donated prizes, we advised you to separate them into three different categories. The $5.00 – $100.00 value range is best used in a Chinese Auction. Each one of the prizes is described or photographed and put in a square box at least 8″ square with a slit in the top. These boxes are then displayed on a table where people can walk around them and read or see the descriptions. At the conclusion of the event, the raffle tickets that the players receive from the dealers in exchange for their chips, can be placed into any of the boxes that the players are interested in winning that prize. We can discuss that in greater detail if you call (954)533-4579.
How do I choose a Venue?
Your venue choice is the second most important decision you must make. I always try to caution people that this is a fundraiser and you are trying to raise money so the least expensive, the better. That does not mean you need to hold your event in a dump. There are many options that will not only allow you the space at a very reduced price, but may also be able to work a deal so you can make money from the venue itself. Your choice of venue will reflect upon you and your organization and you certainly do not want to alienate your members by holding your event in a hall that will make them uncomfortable. If you still need more information, please contact us at (954)533-4579.
How much space will we need for the Casino Tables?
We recommend having ten square feet per person. For Example, if you are expecting 100 people, your venue needs to have a minimum of 1000 square feet. Certain conditions can affect that amount. We will be more than happy to meet with you at your venue to help determine the best use of space to help you make the most money possible. Please call (954)533-4579 for more information.
How often can we have Casino Night Fundraising Events?
If they are Casino Night, Poker Tournaments, Bingo, etc… you are permitted to throw three events in any twelve months without having to apply for a special permit or license. For more information, please call (954)533-4579.
